We place a high priority on keeping you informed of the progress on your project, and accomplish this in three ways.
- Progress Reports: These are scheduled at preset intervals or milestones (goals) during the project, and are time set aside so you can ask questions and provide feedback, as well as a reminder of anything we may still need from you. You will receive a written progress report, which also serves as an agenda for the phone meeting if there is one. The number of progress reports will vary, depending on the scope and length of the project, though typically they are scheduled every two to four weeks.
While we try to work as transparently as possible, too many progress meetings can also impede the projects' progress, since planning for a meeting takes time away from development. We look for a happy medium and adjust according to each clients' needs. - Test Site: In the second week a test site will be set up where you can watch the progress as it happens. This also makes it easier for us to discuss issues during the progress reports. I'm currently developing a toolbar that will hover over the test site, with drop-down options and contain my "to do list" for your website.
I understand that for a lot of clients who have never hired a Designer before, what goes into a website's creation is a mystery. It also might be a little odd since we don't meet face-to-face, and you don't get to watch the work being done.
For this reason a "test site" is set up, so you can track the progress as it happens. Please remember it's called a test site for a reason. You'll be seeing a work in progress. You'll see things move around, change color, and slowly come together.
