Because your domain name is a critical part of your website and business, it's customary for all domain name registrars to send out numerous upcoming domain name renewal notices, beginning 2 months (60 days) before the due date, so you don't forget or miss an email, and lose your domain name.
Upcoming Renewal Reminders: 60 and 30 Days Prior
- First Upcoming Renewal Notice: 60 days prior to the due date
- Second Upcoming Renewal Notice: 30 days prior to the due date.
Domain Invoices: Sent 10 Days Prior To Due Date
Domain name renewal invoices are generated and emailed 10 days prior to the due date. Your domain name will stop resolving on the morning OF it's expiration, so waiting until that day to pay the renewal is too late. That's why all domain renewals are due the day before expiration.
Late Payment Reminders And Consequences
Past due reminders are not sent for domain names.
- Please note there is NO grace period for domain name renewals!
- Your domain name (and your website) will stop resolving on the day of expiration.
- Your domain name will not be renewed without payment.
- Prompt payment will ensure that your website and email continue functioning without any downtime.
After the domain expires you will have a redemption period of up to 30 days in which to renew and reactivate your domain name. Beyond that time the domain will be made publicly available for registration. At any time prior to the invoice being generated you can manually renew your domain from within your account in the Client Portal.
Please see our Domain Name Registration FAQs for instructions on how to renew your domain before the invoice has been generated.
